Background Story

IBC has been operating for more than 10 years, developing independent builders’ merchants across UK, connecting suppliers and buyers online. Before approaching 247 team, IBC was using the platform without APIs; it was just a single, stand-alone piece of software. With no graphics, just documents for its suppliers and membership agreements. Basic interface and poorly built system were causing problems not only for the members but also for the team running the digital space. Company had a complete manual process, mainly through spreadsheets which needed lots of manual input to be able to determine how much rebate each member gets.

IBC has consulted 247 Commerce to drive digital transformation that would accelerate business growth for all: IBC, suppliers, and members.


247 Commerce team has assessed existing digital route map through number of workshops and migrated the platform to Adobe Commerce to improve members’ online experience and to enhance operational efficiency of IBC team. ‘Enable’ which is the platform under Adobe Commerce has driven the transformation through automating the manual process and saving loads of time for IBC employees. Adobe Commerce’s bespoke integration also includes a marketing portal It allows suppliers to create all their content and promotional materials to market their own construction products, building materials. ‘Books’ is one of the features under Adobe Commerce that reads out the agreements for members and creates exceptional user experience for the members.
