Successfully re-platforming to Magento to position Musbury Fabrics for sustained growth.

When Musbury Fabric’s decided to refresh their digital proposition, they quickly determined the need for a flexible ecommerce platform which could connect seamlessly to their warehouse systems. The new platform would need to handle dataflows between both their online wholesale and retail stores, and integrate easily with multiple marketplaces as the company pivoted to an omnichannel retail strategy.



Musbury Fabrics is a well-established importer and retailer of soft furnishings and textiles with 5 mill shops in the North West of England.

When, in 2015, the company embarked on a new omnichannel strategy, they decided to re-platform to Magento and needed a technology partner who could create a consumer website ( for them, as well as a trade site ( to meet the needs of hospitality and leisure businesses.



Detailed planning enabled 247 Commerce to identify Musbury’s current and future requirements for both their consumer and trade websites. We recommended Magento’s Community ecommerce platform (now called Open Source), a high-performance solution with powerful customisation features and flexible integration capabilities for core back-office technologies .

Re-platforming to Magento would enable the company to control both online stores from one administration panel, and enable data to flow seamlessly between their warehouse management, payment processor and shipping systems, automating order and fulfillment workflows, as well as stock management processes.



We also implemented 247 CloudHub, our Integration Platform as a Service solution, as the foundation for interactions with global marketplaces like Amazon and eBay. We configured 247 CloudHub to enable Musbury’s team to manage merchandising and sales across all marketplaces quickly and easily, with catalogue creation reduced to minutes rather than hours, and the ability to list products on all marketplaces from a single admin panel. Real-time inventory updates also ensured stock levels remained in sync across all sales channels.
